Joshua Tree National Park
The biggest reason for going to Indio was to see Joshua Tree NP. We have been in Southern California many times and have wanted to see it, but never managed it. Since we were supposed to check out and leave, I was able to get the resort to give me another night and we headed to the park, after charging up, on another glorious, but a bit windy, day. We went in the north entrance, Joshua Tree, and out the south entrance, Cottonwood. It was about a 3 hour drive (the park is massive)and while we had thought we would hike, we weren’t really prepared for the cold. We stopped for photos several times and to let Tiko roam (on lead) a bit. We got to the southern end just as the sun set.
