The Cousins - Wanda and Greg in Napa

Scott’s only cousin, Wanda, and her husband Greg have been wonderful and sort-of-annual travel companions of ours for about the last 5-6 years. We have been in Lake Chelan, WA, Seaside, OR and Austin, TX, with them, always at a timeshare resort - and this year was no different! The original plan was to come stay with them in Alameda one night, then head to Napa the next day. Since we stayed an extra night in Oxnard, we just came up to Alameda (see previous blog entry) had a wonderful dinner they prepared and then loaded up! We didn’t get to Napa until late, but stayed in a really wonderful resort. There were “bumps” in checking in and getting settled, but the weather was fantastic and we each had a studio unit so we were able to have breakfast together each morning. Tiko had to share his back seat with them, but they all seemed pretty happy with the arrangement! Tiko had people to snuggle with and since Greg, and especially Wanda, were missing their own pooch, Alhaz, it worked out fine as demonstrated by the photo below!

The next day Greg wanted to catch up on reading and I was really wanting to take Tiko to Point IsabelDog Park as I had read so much about it. It is the largest dog park in the US and right on the water with a beautiful view of San Francisco Bay. Dogs can be off lead, go swimming (not Tiko, though!), they have walking trails and even a cafe and place to get them cleaned up! Scott, Wanda, Tiko and I headed there and spent probably 2 hours walking around. The weather didn’t disappoint and it was just a lovely day to be outside with my favorite people and pooch!

You might know how much I love orange so the photos below are just because of that - and Wanda loves the California poppies!

We ate at a Thai restaurant next to this one, but I loved the sculpture!

The cousins!

Both are actually smiling!

Scott, Greg and Wanda spent the day together while I was over visiting Jill Schutte in Sacramento (separate blog). They did a wine tasting, checked out a local cemetery and something else. Photos to follow as soon as I get them!
